THE NEBRASKA THESPIAN SOCIETY THEATRE TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Students, we are proud to continue the Nebraska Thespian “Theatre Teacher of the Year Award.”  This award will be presented during the banquet at this year’s State Festival.  How can my Theatre teacher be nominated?  Well, that is where you come in!!

TO NOMINATE YOUR TEACHER, follow these instructions.

You must send in ONE letter of recommendation from each of three areas

ONE letter from a student

ONE letter from a parent

ONE letter from a teacher/administrator at your school

What you include in these letters is totally up to you.  What should WE know about your director, what makes them unique?  What makes them a great theatre teacher?  How do they effectively organize your troupe?

All three of your nomination letters must be compiled and sent to

Angela M Dashner, Nebraska Chapter Director, Mercy High School,  1501 S 48th Street, Omaha, NE  68106.  Phone: 402-553-9424 Fax:  402-553-0394

E-Mail:  dashnera@mercyhigh.org

THIS NOMINATION MUST BE POSTMARKED ON OR BEFORE November 1st , 2016 TO BE VALID.

When each sponsor gets to the State Festival, they will be given a packet with copies of the letters about the teachers nominated.  They will vote for the teacher whom they feel is most deserving.  The votes will be counted and the award presented.  Make sure your teacher’s name is on that list.  Start gathering your letters of recommendation NOW!

Troupes MUST be attending the State Festival for a teacher to be eligible
