For the past 10 years, I’ve served as a member of the Nebraska Thespian general board. My third year teaching, I was elected secretary of the Nebraska Thespian Board, and following that role, I was elected Treasurer, and then co-Chapter Director along with Emily Mokrycki, and have been serving in that capacity ever since. I have experience in numerous aspects of our State Festival- organizing Individual events, finding judges, taking minutes, running improv challenge, and overseeing all of our spending and budget reports. I have also attending the Educational Theatre Association’s Leadership summit, I’ve had a student elected as the student International Officer Chair, and have fostered many relationships with EDTA members and leaders across the country. I’ve planned festivals at High Schools and helped with the transition to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I look forward to assisting in a new transition as our festival continues to grow. I will lead with transparency, encouraging collaboration from theatre teachers all across our state. I have made it a personal mission as a member of the executive board to reach out to new drama directors and get them involved with the Thespians organization on a state and international level because I know what a benefit it can be for students. I love to serve and couldn’t think of a better place to put my effort into than the organization that shaped and empowered me so much as a teen in theatre.
